 LĪGATNE AND LĪGATNE NATURE TRAILS

Trail without the Līgatne nature trails, approximate length 11 km, duration 2 hours (Līgatne Tourism information centre - Historical housing of Gauja street - Ferry - Jumpravu sandstone cliff - Katrīna sandstone cliff - Gūdu cliff- Dārza street - Līgatne Tourism information centre) 

 

Trail including the Līgatne nature trails, approximate length 16 km, duration 4,5 hours (Līgatne Tourism information centre - Historical housing of Gauja street - Ferry - Jumpravu Rock - Katrīna Rock - Gūdu Cliffs - Līgatne nature trails - Dārza street - Līgatne Tourism information centre) 

 

 

The trail provides to view the historical wooden housing of Gauja street from the 19th century, you will see “Fāle” house, which used to be guest house of the director of the Līgatne Paper Mill. Following, you will be able to see the ferry on the river Gauja, Jumpravu Rock, Katrīna Rock, and Gūdu Cliffs, which is on the other shore of the river Gauja. Further, you will find the destination - Līgatne nature trails Līgatnes dabas takas, where there is an opportunity to view the Latvian animal life. You can conclude the hike by returning back to the Līgatne Tourism information centre by walking along the Dārza street that provides to see the Kangarkalns, or by sticking to the Gauja street.
